Drama – We will provide dramatic activities that have the
experience of the child as the goal. There is no pressure to perform
as the focus is on the process versus the product, so there is no
wrong answer. We will explore different cultures through imagination
journeys and will also teach story enactment, theatre games, improvisations
puppets and playwriting. The children will use props that will help
them become the part. This will help to develop their confidence
and provide them the tools to “think out of the box”.

Class
activities focus specifically on training the voice, body and mind
to be a unified instrument of dramatic and comedic expression. Students
participate in voice and body warm-up exercises, improvisations and
sensory games that encourage the expanded use of one’s creative
imagination within a theatrical context. Group scenes are introduced
which challenge the class to perform as characters within an ensemble.
The scenes are taken from Musicals from around the world. These scenes
are studied, rehearsed and then performed at the end of each session.
These classes will help to develop the child’s confidence.
